THE LATE SHOWS - This year
my studio and the courtyard is one of the venues.
14th and 15th May

Friday and Saturday
Open 6 - 11pm
The Black Swan courtyard will come alive with workshops and
demonstrations, set to live music. Discover how to throw a pot on the
potter’s wheel, make jugs, vases and bowls and learn a range of
different firing techniques around the potters kiln.
Artists work on view includes David Fry, Lisa deLarny, Lucy Farrell,
Charlie Allen, Jill Hlalo and Nori Hashimoto -throwing pots Japanese
style .
Clay work sculpting demonstrations, based on the human figure; and
firing glass in a microwave kiln; visitors can also learn the various
jewellery making
methods. Activities will be taking place throughout the evening so just
drop in. There’ll also be hot jacket potatoes baked, of course, in the
kiln.

POTFEST
2009
* The International Ceramics Festival with
demonstrations and workshop events
Potfest Scotland -
22nd, 23rd & 24th May
Potfest in the Pens - August 7th, 8th & 9th.
This year I'm doing the
Potfest in the
Pens event at Penrith plus the Scotland event in Perth,
potters' markets showing the work of up to 150
potters. The Penrith and Perth events are the oldest and best potters'
markets in the UK, see/click the link for more details.
These are open events and as such has a special dynamism with
potters of international reputation exhibiting alongside recently
graduated students. The result is an exciting mix of the sophisticated,
the well established and the raw power of the next generation. Be
prepared for visual overload..
My best new pieces will be on display here. http://www.potfest.co.uk
