POTFEST 2008 * The Penrith International Ceramics Festival comprises 2 potters markets on different weekends, linked by demonstration and workshop events.

Potfest in the Pens - August 8th, 9th & 10th.

This year I'm doing the Potfest in the Pens event, A potters' market showing the work of up to 150 potters. The event is the oldest and best potters' market in the UK, and is held under permanent cover at Skirsgill Auction Mart, Penrith - 100 yds west of junction 40 off the M6, on the edge of Britain's beautiful Lake District.
This is an open event and as such has a special dynamism with potters of international reputation exhibiting alongside recently graduated students. The result is an exciting mix of the sophisticated, the well established and the raw power of the next generation. Be prepared for visual overload..
